It will be held in conjunction with Smart City Expo from November 3 to 5
The Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress will gather the European cybersecurity ecosystem
In a context marked by the rise of new technologies, the growing interconnectivity of systems and the massive implementation of Artificial Intelligence, the seventh edition of the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress (BCC) will focus on the digital protection of industries, companies and services. To this end, it will bring together the main actors in the European digital protection ecosystem and will address the current and future challenges of security in industrial and urban environments.
Organised by Fira de Barcelona and the Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia, the BCC will take place from 3 to 5 November, strengthening its position as the main European commercial and outreach platform for cybersecurity in 2026.
The show will include an exhibition area with a hundred companies; a Congress tackling issues such as digital resilience, the protection of critical infrastructures or security in connected environments; and a Hacking Village where ethical coders will put their skills into practice and share their knowledge.
The offer is rounded off with a Showcase Corner, hosting the presentation of innovative solutions; a Networking Hub featuring the main European cybersecurity bodies; The Startup Cyber Experience, a space for start-ups, and the CISO Global Leadership Awards that reward the main cybersecurity leaders and managers for their vision, innovation and impact.
Urban synergies
In its seventh edition, the BCC will be held alongside Smart City Expo World Congress to enhance the existing synergies between the digitalisation of urban environments and digital protection with the aim of addressing cybersecurity challenges in a cross-cutting approach.
The President of the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress and Director of the Cybersecurity Agency of Catalonia, Laura Caballero, highlighted the role of this congress “as a strategic meeting point for the sector, the BCC is already a reference space where companies, institutions and professionals share knowledge, promote new business opportunities, foster innovation and reinforce the culture of cybersecurity in the face of increasing digital threats.”
Along these lines, the Director of the event, Flavia Santoro, pointed out that “in a scenario of accelerated digital transformation and growing adoption of advanced technologies, an event like BCC is essential for companies, cities and industries to consider cybersecurity as a strategic priority.”
The unstoppable process of digitization and interconnectivity of computer systems, with the emergence of Artificial Intelligence, has led to an increase in cyber attacks in recent years. In Spain alone, in 2025, the National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE) recorded a total of 122,223 cybersecurity incidents, which represents an increase of 26% compared to 2024. In addition, a total of 237,028 vulnerable systems were detected and reported, susceptible to being the target of an attack.
With regard to Catalonia, the Cybersecurity Agency, which protects the Catalan Government’s information systems and its areas of action, managed a total of 6,544 unique cyber incidents in 2025, almost twice as many as the previous year (3,372) and detected more than 9,100 million attack attempts (32% more than in 2024), of which more than 7,000 million were automatically and immediately blocked.
Hall 2 of Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue will host the Barcelona Cybersecurity Congress, which is expected to be visited by 6,000 professionals from the field of cybersecurity.
