Quantum cryptography: Past, present, future
Cryptography is facing one of the greatest turning points in its history. This presentation will explore the evolution of encryption, from the cryptographic models that currently protect our communications and data to the new paradigms that will shape digital security in the quantum era.
We will analyze the current state of pre-quantum cryptography, the risks posed by the arrival of quantum computers capable of compromising certain existing algorithms, and the transition towards post-quantum cryptography as a response to this new landscape. We will also explore the role of quantum cryptography and technologies such as Quantum Key Distribution (QKD), placing their level of maturity, applications, and challenges into context.
A journey through the past, present, and future to understand how information protection will evolve, what decisions organizations need to start making today, and why crypto-agility will become a strategic capability for addressing the next generation of threats.
